Back in 1992, Chef Anthony Russo brought put his touch on New York style pizza and brought it to Texas. It was then that Anthony Russo opened up Russo’s Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen and Russo’s New York Pizzeria. He is now expanding those brands across the United States and even overseas.

Russo now has 28 restaurants operating in Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas and Florida. Currently, Russo’s has 26 restaurants in development. Five new restaurants are scheduled to open by the end of December. Over 900 jobs will be created by these new restaurants in development. Russo’s has built up a steady following here in the U.S. and recently signed a franchise deal to open restaurants in the Middle East. Some of the countries to see new Russo’s Pizzerias are Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Qatar. This month (September) the first international Russo’s will open in Dubai.

Anthony Russo opened his first restaurant at the age of 17. Fast forward to 1992 and Anthony opened his first Russo’s New York Pizzeria. Russo’s has also added a gluten free menu to it’s traditional menu. Gluten-free crusts are available for customers needing one, but only for the 12 inch pizzas at this time. Not satisfied to only offer these gluten-free pizzas in their restaurants, Russo’s has also launched a retail line of gluten-free pizzas. These pizzas should be found in grocery stores by October 2012.
