good for others and are constantly on the search to find communities that share our passion to do
good. Today, with the release of our Ann Arbor Pizza Guide, we have found a community that shares our passion.
Ann Arbor, Michigan is the home of a very vibrant and diverse community where we now seek the help
of its pizza loving residents. The help we need is for them to eat pizza and at the same time heal the blind in Himalayan countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and in parts of Northern India.
PizzaSpotz.com has partnered with the Himalayan Cataract Project (rated four stars by Charity Navigator) to provide cataract surgeries for the blind in the above mentioned countries. A portion of all sales proceeds generated by PizzaSpotz.com via online ordering links on our Ann Arbor Pizza Guide will be donated to the Himalayan Cataract Project. These donations are made by PizzaSpotz, not by the individual restaurants.
Why Ann Arbor?
“Ann Arbor was an easy choice,” says PizzaSpotz founder Brian Humek. “The University of Michigan was instrumental in our choice. With such a large campus and many great pizzerias in the area. We knew Ann Arbor could be a place that would get the word out about blindness ravaging countries like Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal.”
Humek added, “I know college students are the best at spreading the word about social causes. Eight years ago while on a college campus I learned about the Invisible Children in Africa. That was long before the Kony 2012 campaign popularized the plight of kidnapped children being forced into war in Africa.”
