Saved by the Bell College Years on NBCThe cast for Saturday Night Live, when the show debuted in 1975, were labeled as the Not Ready for Primetime Players because their time slot on NBC was 10:30 p.m. (CST). The same could probably have been said for the Saved by the Bell cast in 1993. They were wildly successful in their morning time slot for NBC, but their move to primetime as a new show, Saved by the Bell College Years didn’t work out so well. I loved it. My bride loved it. But not enough viewers loved Saved by the Bell The College Years.

Here is our ranking of the top ten episodes featuring Zack, Screech, Kelly and Slater in Saved by the Bell College Years which aired on NBC from 1993-1994.

10. Entire Wedding Movie

Original Airdate: October 7, 1994

I guess this could be a spoiler for anyone whose not a big fan of Saved by the Bell and not seen every episode multiple times. But here’s the big news, Zack and Kelly get married. They plan to do so in Las Vegas but things go awry but at the same time they get better. The best part of the wedding movie is the flashback scene of all the ups and downs of Kelly and Zack’s relationship. Awwwww… memories.

9. Marry Me

Zack and Kelly are getting closer but there she goes, getting ready for the Semester on the Sea program. Zack realizes they will be apart for an entire semester. Things get worse when he dreams she meets and falls for a hunk while on the ship. Zack tries to convince Screech not to go so he himself can get to go. The Dean is not about to let Zack go on the trip even if Screech bows out.

6. Pilot

Original Airdate: May 22, 1993

This was an amazing day for Saved by the Bell fans, the return of Zack, Screech and Slater. Kelly wasn’t around for the pilot but returned in the second episode. Odd how things worked out when each friend was to attend different universities after Bayside but all SBTB fans were happy they wound up at Cal U.

5. A Thanksgiving Story

Original Airdate: November 23, 1993

This was a star studded episode. The gang’s plans to return home for Thanksgiving fall through and they stay at Cal U to help Rogers with his dinner for underprivileged kids. Guest stars include Marsha Warfield, Jonathan Brandis and Brian Austin Green.

4. Screech Love

Original Airdate: October 26, 1993

I’m sure this is the only time Screech beats out Zack for the attention of a lovely young lady. This is almost unbelievable to any seasoned Saved by the Bell fan. But it really does happen. Linda is a tennis star who needs help passing astronomy. Zack gets Screech to tutor her and the two see stars. Of course, this love comes between Zack’s and Screech’s friendship but in the end, all is well.

3. A Question of Ethics

Original Airdate: December 21, 1993

Hands down, this is one of the funniest episodes of Saved by the Bell: The College Years. Ethics class is a killer. Opportunities arise to cheat by looking at copies of the test questions ahead of time. Which friend will cheat? Which will refuse? Or will they all jump into the dumpster to find the test questions?

2. Bedside Manner

Original Airdate: January 11, 1994

And number one on our list of Saved by the Bell: The College Years episodes is …

1. Teacher’s Pet

Original Airdate: December 7, 1993

Kelly has a crush on Professor Lasky. She visits his office one day and finds him entertaining his young daughter. Overhearing his phone conversation about a babysitting dilemma, Kelly agrees to babysit. That’s the beginning of the crush gone wrong, especially for Zack and his hopes of getting together with his high school sweetheart. By the end of this episode a kiss is shared between Kelly and Professor Lasky.
