pizza hut in ZAThere is no other pizza chain in the world as large as Pizza Hut. So the answer to the question, “Are there Pizza Hut restaurants in Africa?” must be a “Yes.” Of course Pizza Hut has a presence in Africa. There have been Pizza Hut restaurants in Egypt and Morocco for years. However, before September 17th, 2014, they did not have a store in Sub-Saharan Africa. Of their over 15,000 restaurants, before September, not one of those Pizza Hut restaurants were in Sub-Saharan African countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda or South Africa.

Today, the people of Johannesburg, South Africa can devour some of the tastiest pizza on the planet. The new restaurant is modern, offering customers free Wi-Fi and has digital menu signs. Customers can also order online and have their pizzas delivered. Most everything you see on the menu will be the same fare a Pizza Hut customer could buy in a Dallas, Texas Pizza Hut, but there are a couple exceptions. Johannesburg Pizza Hut customers can order Borewors sausage as a topping and customers can choose to have their pizzas made with Peri-Peri, a popular hot sauce.

Pizza Hut will open more restaurants in South Africa during the last quarter of 2014. In total, about 200 jobs will be created. The company foresees dozens of stores opening over the next three years and about 2500 jobs being created for South Africans. Further expansion plans call for stores in Angola, Zambia and Namibia.

You can visit the new South African Pizza Hut online at their website.
