How fast do you think you could single-handedly eat a 12” pizza? For YouTube personality and host of Furious Eats, Peter Czerwinski, better known as “Furious Pete”, the answer is an incredible record-setting 41.31 seconds. He destroyed the previous pizza eating record!

Czerwinski set the world pizza eating record at Big Mama’s & Papa’s Pizzeria in Burbank, CA on January 9, 2013. The previous record for eating a 12” pizza was held by the legendary Takeru Kobayashi who managed to down an entire pizza with a time of 1:09.36 on February 12, 2012. When asked about breaking Kobayashi’s record Czerwinski replied, “Kobayashi is a legend in competitive eating so it is awesome to have beaten someone of his stature for this record. This is a long ways from my deathbed with Anorexia and yet only the beginning!”

The most amazing thing about this record was that he accomplished it without holding the pizza in his hands. The Guinnness official present at the event said he had to eat the pizza with a knife and fork. Donald Trump would be happy about that, after all, that’s his style.

Setting Guinness World records for competitive eating is nothing new Czerwinski. Czerwinski appears to have a natural talent for downing various food items at a rapid pace. In addition to his new record for pizza eating, he also holds three other records for eating jaffa cakes, raw onions, and Ferrero Rochers.
